Acquisition of Whitehall Asset Management
February 14, 2003 — Atlantic Trust announced that it has acquired Whitehall Asset Management and certain affiliates from the Industrial Bank of Japan Trust Company. Based in New York, private wealth manager Whitehall has approximately $1.25B in assets under management and is also investment advisor to The Whitehall Funds with assets of $191M. Operations are being integrated into Atlantic Trust, the private wealth management division of AMVESCAP, and are located at 50 Rockefeller Plaza, New York.
Whitehall brings to Atlantic Trust a strong history of serving high net worth clients beginning in 1923 when it was first formed as a part of the J. Henry Schroder Bank & Trust Company. Over the years it was combined with what previously was Delphi Asset Management, L.P. and Campbell Advisors. This is consistent with Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management's stated growth plans of making strategic acquisitions combined with organic growth to build a significant global full-service business for the world's wealthiest individuals.
The Whitehall Funds have been renamed under the Atlantic Trust brand and are being integrated into the Atlantic Trust investment strategy. The Atlantic Whitehall Funds include:
- Atlantic Whitehall Growth Fund
- Atlantic Whitehall Growth & Income Fund
- Atlantic Whitehall Income Fund
