Andrew J. Lang, CFA
Managing Director
Andrew Lang is a senior relationship manager and head of Atlantic Trust's Newport Beach office, with more than 28 years of investment experience. He also serves as an investment manager overseeing a select number of client portfolios. Andrew is a voting member of Atlantic Trust's Asset Allocation and Multi-Manager Investment committees. He formerly served as chairman of the investment committee and served as head of fixed income and trading. Andrew joined Atlantic Trust in 1996 from an institutional investment advisory firm where he was responsible for managing taxable and tax-exempt portfolios. He began his career with a Midwest regional advisor where he participated in the management of balanced assets for high net worth individuals, foundations, endowments and retirement plans. Andrew earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Illinois and a Master of Management in finance and economics from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Los Angeles CFA Society.
Joseph C. J. Dempsey, CFA
Managing Director
Joseph Dempsey is a senior relationship manger and portfolio manager in Atlantic Trust’s Newport Beach office, with more than 25 years of industry experience. Joe joined Atlantic Trust in 1999 and manages individualized portfolios for private clients with a focus on competitive returns with managed risk. Prior to joining the firm, Joe brought his investment career to San Francisco in 1995 and spent four years at McCullough, Andrews & Cappiello. He worked directly with Frank Cappiello managing assets for pension funds and individual clients. Joe spent the first eight years of his career at Atalanta Sosnoff Capital Corp. as an equity analyst. In this role, he was primarily responsible for fundamental analysis involving on-site company visits, quantitative analysis and determination of the suitability of investment recommendations for the firm’s clients. Joe earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is member of the New York Society of Security Analysts, the Security Analyst Society of San Francisco and the CFA Institute.
Aaron M. Newland, CFP®
Senior Vice President
Aaron Newland is a business development officer in Atlantic Trust’s Newport Beach office, with more than 18 years of experience in investment management and estate planning. His background includes working as a vice president for First American Trust, FSB, and the inception and management of an independent registered investment advisory business located in Long Beach, California. In these roles, he worked with individuals and owners of closely-held business entities in the areas of retirement, business succession and wealth management. Previously, he served as a vice president with Fidelity Investments Personal Trust Services, where he worked with high net worth families to design and implement investment and estate planning strategies to meet their needs. Aaron received a Bachelor of Science in finance from Bentley College in Massachusetts and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. Aaron is also active with the Long Beach Memorial Medical Foundation and is a member of the South Bay and Long Beach Estate Planning councils.
Wendy C. Chen
Vice President
Wendy Chen is an associate relationship manager in Atlantic Trust's Newport Beach office, with more than 11 years of industry experience. She is responsible for implementing and monitoring investment strategies, co-managing client portfolios and overseeing the daily administration of client accounts. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2004, she was with Smith Barney's San Francisco office and worked as a sales and marketing associate. Wendy earned a Bachelor of Arts in legal studies from the University of California at Berkeley and is currently working toward earning the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation. She is an active member of the German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County.
Jackie Hodgman
Senior Associate
Jackie Hodgman is a senior client service associate in the Newport Beach office, with more than six years of industry experience. In this role, she works closely with relationship managers to provide client service reporting and is responsible for the opening and ongoing daily account administration for the Newport Beach office. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2008, Jackie began her career at Charles Schwab, working directly with clients and managing client accounts. Jackie earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Logan W. Allin
Head of Strategy and Client Experience
Logan Allin is head of strategy and client experience for Atlantic Trust. He is a managing director and serves on the firm's Operating Committee. Logan brings more than 11 years of wealth and asset management consulting and industry experience to his role, where his near-term focus is the development of a vision and strategic plan around the firm’s client and advisor experience, underpinned by an enhanced operations and technology platform. In addition, Logan is involved in other strategic initiatives, such as client relationship development in the family office, foundation and endowment channels. Previously, Logan was a senior vice president in City National Bank's wealth management division. He spent much of his career consulting to large global financial service and private wealth management firms through his leadership positions at Capgemini, EMC Corporation and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he also led the Advisory Services to Family Offices, providing services around family planning and governance, family office formation, philanthropic endeavors, financial controls and operations/technology. Logan earned a Bachelor of Arts in public policy and political science from Duke University. Logan holds the Certified Investment Management AnalystSM designation administered by the Investment Management Consultants AssociationSM and taught in conjunction with The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He sits on the advisory board of the Family Office Association and is actively involved in several charitable organizations nationally.
