Your Portfolio
Your Customized Portfolio
In managing your assets, your Atlantic Trust team balances your objectives with your tolerance for risk, your cash flow requirements and other factors.
Experience has proven that asset allocation is a primary determinant of a portfolio's variability of return in any market condition. At the outset of our relationship with you, we spend a great deal of time assessing both the quantitative and qualitative issues involved in setting your asset allocation guidelines and making recommendations for your asset allocation plan. Some of the key factors considered in determining your objectives include:
- Investment time horizon
- Liquidity and income needs
- Risk tolerance
- Asset constraints
Our goal is to develop an appropriate asset allocation customized to your unique needs ("getting it right"). Subsequently, we make strategic adjustments to your asset allocation as necessitated by changes in your life and based upon the ever-changing risks, opportunities and relative value in the financial markets ("keeping it right").
Ongoing market guidance is one of the key responsibilities of our Asset Allocation Committee.
Making Investment Decisions
Designed with one purpose in mindto help you preserve and responsibly grow your assetsAtlantic Trust's Asset Allocation Committee (AAC) is comprised of our firm's most senior investment professionals, including the chief investment officer, chief equity strategist, head of fixed income and head of the Multi-Manager Investment Program. The AAC meets at least monthly to:
- Assess the macroeconomic and investment environment
- Identify risks, opportunities and relative value in the financial markets
- Set asset allocation guidelines for the major asset classes
Your Atlantic Trust Team considers the AAC's guidance in formulating your initial asset allocation and is continually alert for any changes necessary to keep your allocation on target. The result is confidence that your asset allocation is thoughtfully constructed and maintained to serve your needs over time.
