Thomas N. Riley, CFA
Managing Director

Thomas N. Riley, CFATom Riley is a senior relationship manger and head of Atlantic Trust's Boston office. He works closely with families, individuals and institutions to provide comprehensive investment and wealth planning expertise. Tom also holds responsibilities for the leadership and coordination of the client experience within the Boston office and is a member of the firm's Operating Committee. Prior to joining the firm in 1993, Tom was a global equity analyst for Scudder, Stevens & Clark, providing in-depth fundamental research across a broad range of industries and supporting multiple investments disciplines. Tom is a past member of the board of trustees of Babson College, where he currently serves on the Investment Committee. Tom has also served as trustee for the Cambridge School of Weston, as treasurer and as past chair of the Finance and Investment committees. He is involved in numerous community organizations, including director of the Chaffin Fund, which provides needs-based scholarships for college tuition assistance. Tom's professional memberships include the Boston Security Analysts Society and the CFA Institute. Tom earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration with honors from Babson College. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Edward C. Bunn
Managing Director

Edward C. BunnTed Bunn is a senior relationship manager at Atlantic Trust’s Boston office, with more than 15 years of industry experience. In this role, his primary focus is comprehensive client service and fiduciary oversight for individual trusts, foundations and endowments. Ted also develops and implements investment strategies for high net worth families and individuals. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2002, Ted served as head of the personal trust administration group at Scudder Trust Company and began his career as a trust officer and associate trust counsel at State Street Bank and Trust Company. Ted is actively involved with the Planned Giving Committee of South Shore Hospital and is active in his local community, serving on the finance committee of his town’s board. He also chairs the human rights committee for Road to Responsibility, a non-profit organization that helps mentally challenged adults live within their communities. Ted graduated with honors from Connecticut State University and earned a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School.

 

Kimberly A. (Benjaminsen) Dwyer
Managing Director

Kimberly A. BenjaminsenKim Dwyer is a senior relationship manager with more than 21 years of experience in the trust and investment management industry. In this role, her primary focus is providing comprehensive client service through investment and wealth management solutions that incorporate estate and tax planning strategies. Kim began her career at State Street Bank & Trust Company, where she was a trust officer and portfolio manager. Most recently, Kim was an associate vice president at Eastern Bank & Trust Company. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University and is a graduate of the New England School of Banking at Williams College. Kim is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council, where she serves on the membership committee. She is a member of Boston Women in Finance and Leading Women Massachusetts. Kim also serves as the director of scholarships for the Boston chapter of the BYU Management Society and as an ambassador for Science Club for Girls.

 

Mark R. Gudaitis, CFA
Managing Director

Mark R. Gudaitis, CFAMark Gudaitis is a senior relationship manager with more than 23 years of industry experience, who works closely with other members of our client service team in an effort to build client relationships as a trusted advisor. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2008, Mark was most recently with Gannett Welsh & Kotler, LLC, where he was responsible for building and managing the firm's private client business, along with three other professionals, including the CEO. In addition, Mark held key positions as co-manager of the GW&K Dividend Plus Strategy and as a member of GW&K's investment committee and executive committee. Prior to joining GW&K in 2000, Mark held analytical positions with Scudder Kemper Investments, worked actively within the private client and institutional business as an investment consultant, and started his career with Boston Financial & Equity Corporation as a credit analyst. He is the treasurer of the Men’s Golf Association at Ipswich Country Club and serves on the Planned Giving Committee and Investment Committee at St. John’s Preparatory School. Mark earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Boston College and has earned the Certified Financial Analyst designation.

 

Alan S. Fields
Managing Director

Alan S. FieldsAlan Fields is a senior client relationship manager with more than 47 years of experience serving high net worth and eleemosynary clients. In this role, he is responsible for helping individuals, families, foundations and endowments define their financial and investment goals and implement strategies to reach them. He also serves as a member of Atlantic Trust’s Asset Allocation Committee, as well as its Multi-Manager Investment Team. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2004, Alan served as chairman of the Private Client Group at Harbor Capital Management, a company he founded in 1979. Previously, he served as an officer and portfolio manager with Phoenix Investment Counsel of Boston. Prior to joining Phoenix, Alan served as a portfolio manager with Hornblower Asset Management. He began his career as a research analyst with Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company. He received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he currently serves as a director of the UNC-Chapel Hill Center for Jewish Studies and a former member of the Board of Visitors. Alan is also an active member of the Boston community, where he serves as director of the Josiah W. Hayden Recreational Centre, trustee of the Town of Lexington Retirement Fund and chairman of the Trustees of Public Trusts in Lexington. Additionally, Alan serves as a member of the Boston Committee on Foreign Relations, the Combined Jewish Philanthropies, the Town of Lexington Pension Fund and is a former member of the Investment Committee of Wellesley College.

 

Lizabeth P. Fisher

Lizabeth P. FisherLizabeth Fisher is a senior relationship manager in Atlantic Trust's Boston office, with more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. She is responsible for several aspects of the client wealth management experience, including business development, trust administration, portfolio management and estate and financial planning. Since joining the firm in 1992, Lizabeth has been responsible for various roles, including the implementation and organization of the firm's customized client reporting. She also has served as a member of Atlantic Trust's Multi-Manager Investment Team. Lizabeth is a member of the board of directors of Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange and a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council. She earned a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in accounting and economics from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and a Master of Business Administration from Boston University.

 

Martina A. R. Frangis

Martina A. R. FrangisMartina Frangis is a senior relationship manager with more than 15 years of experience in the trust and financial services industry. She supports a team that cares for some of the Boston office’s largest family relationships. Martina works closely with clients and their advisors to create and implement tailored wealth management solutions to meet her client’s financial and estate-planning goals. She is a member of the firm’s Trust Committee and Discretionary Distribution Committee. She also has management responsibility for the Boston office through her inclusion on the Boston Advisory Team. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2001, Martina served as an assistant vice president in the trust department of Citizens Bank and began her career in the trust department of Fleet Bank. Martina earned her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Salve Regina University and a Juris Doctorate from Roger Williams University School of Law. She is involved in development initiatives for the Philanthropy Department of Women & Infants’ Hospital in Providence and also serves on the hospital’s Patient & Family Advisory Council.

 

Eric S. Riak, CFP®

Eric S. Riak, CFP®Eric Riak is a senior client relationship manager in Atlantic Trust’s Boston office, with more than 19 years of industry experience. In this role, he focusing on clients that require complex tax and investment strategies, working closely with clients’ outside advisors and overseeing the overall asset allocation and customized reporting for portfolios. Eric is also a member of the firm’s Multi-Manager Investment Committee, which reviews and approves long-only and alternative asset class managers used in client portfolios. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 1998, Eric was a senior accountant in Executive Monetary Management’s tax consulting group. He began his career in Arthur Andersen’s personal financial planning group. Eric earned a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in business administration from Washington University and holds the Certified Public Accountant and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designations. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Massachusetts Society of CPAs and the Financial Planning Association. Eric is also a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council, the board of investments of the First Unitarian Society of Newton and the investment committee of the Ocular Immunology & Uveitis Foundation at the Massachusetts Eye Research & Surgery Institution. He is treasurer on the board of the West Newton Little League, a local children’s baseball league.

 

Judith A. Saxe

Judith A. SaxeJudith Saxe is a managing director in Atlantic Trust’s Boston office, serving as a senior wealth strategist and client relationship manager, with more than 23 years of experience designing sophisticated estate plans for high net worth individuals, corporate executives, closely held business owners and multinationals. She works directly with clients and their advisors to develop comprehensive estate planning solutions as part of Atlantic Trust’s integrated wealth management process. She joined Atlantic Trust in 2003 from Ernst & Young LLP, where she served as the New England area director of estate and business succession planning. Previously, Judith was an estate planning attorney at a major New York firm. Judith earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors from Harvard University and a Juris Doctorate from New York University School of Law. In 2008, she received the Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) designation by the National Association of Estate Planning Councils, recognizing her experience and specialization in estate planning. In 2009, Judith was elected to be an executive officer of the Boston Estate Planning Council (BEPC), the largest interdisciplinary council in the country, after having served four years on the Executive Board. She currently serves as vice president of the BEPC. Judith has been named a Massachusetts "Super Lawyer" in Estate Planning by Boston Magazine and is active in the Boston legal community. She has chaired, or been a panelist for, numerous programs for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc. (MCLE) and contributed to MCLE’s various publications.

 

Sidney F. Queler
Managing Director and National Director of Business Development

Sidney QuelerSid Queler is the national director of business development for Atlantic Trust, with more than 22 years of industry experience. In this role, he spearheads business development planning and initiatives throughout the firm. Sid also serves as a managing director and member of the advisory team for the firm's Boston office. In addition to leading local business development, marketing and public relations initiatives, he remains actively involved with client relationships. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, Sid served as a regional business consultant for Curian Capital, working as the national director of business development for the Capital Management Group at Avatar Associates and as the national sales and marketing manager at BTS Asset Management. Sid is the chairman of the Board of Overseers at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra Partners Committee and a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council. He earned a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in business administration from Elmira College.

 

J. Timothy Delaney

Sidney QuelerTim Delaney is a senior relationship manager in Atlantic Trust's Boston office with 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is responsible for several aspects of the client wealth management experience, including asset allocation, portfolio and investment management, business development and financial planning. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2012, Tim was with Pillar Financial Advisers, Inc., where he worked as the investment manager for the firm’s high net worth clients, a relationship manager for several key accounts and head of the investment committee. Prior to joining Pillar Financial in 2008, Tim was a principal and senior portfolio manager with Lowell, Blake and Associates where he invested in individual equities and bonds based on traditional-value methodology. Tim earned a Bachelor of Arts from Fairfield University, a Master of Science in finance from Northeastern University and a certificate in financial planning from Boston University.

Christine L. Lucero, CFP®Christine Lucero is a wealth strategies professional in the Boston office, with more than six years of industry experience. She is responsible for the development of integrated wealth management solutions and provides comprehensive estate and financial planning services to clients. She is also a member of the firm's Discretionary Distributions Committee. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust, Christine was an estate planning specialist with Fidelity Personal Investments. There, she provided guidance to Fidelity's Private Client Group on estate and stock option planning and received an award for Excellence in Action. Christine earned a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College and a Juris Doctorate with honors from Suffolk University Law School. In addition, she holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. Christine is an active member of the Boston Estate Planning Council and has served on its Golf and Networking committees. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, Boston Bar Association and Trusts and Estates Consortium.

 

Aaron B. Shields

Aaron ShieldsAaron Shields is a manager of tax reporting services in the Boston office, with 13 years of industry experience. In this role, he manages tax reporting and has oversight of trust administration and fiduciary compliance. Aaron integrates his knowledge in taxation, trust, investment and financial planning in order to meet the goals and needs of his clients. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2000, he was a client service manager at State Street Bank Wealth Management Services. Aaron earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, a Juris Doctorate from Roger Williams University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in business management from Suffolk University. He is a Certified Trust and Financial Planner, a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and a volunteer for Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center.

 

Rajesh Advani

Prior to joining the firm in 1998, she began her career at Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Company, now BNY Mellon Wealth Management, where she was a trust officer and portfolio manager responsible for the investment and trust administration for investment management accounts, trusts and IRAs. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University and is a graduate of the New England School of Banking at Williams College. Lisa is also a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council.

Joanne Papangelis, CFP®TMJoanne Papangelis is a relationship manager in Atlantic Trust’s Boston office, with more than 20 years of industry experience. In this role, she is responsible for managing client portfolios and implementing strategies designed to help high net worth clients achieve their financial goals. She also serves as a technical resource for many of our senior relationship managers. Prior to joining the firm in 1999, she worked at Putnam Investments as a senior performance analyst in the offshore/international performance and analytics group. She was also a senior compliance analyst for Putnam’s retail and institutional funds. Joanne began her career in the institutional accounting division of Mellon Bank. She earned a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in management and a minor in communications from Regis College. Joanne holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation and is a member of the Financial Planning Association.

Prior to joining the firm in 2004, he worked as an associate at State Street Wealth Management Services. In this position, he worked exclusively in the mutual fund division and serviced institutional clients. Joe began his career in the financial services field at Investors Bank & Trust in 2000, where he was an associate in the mutual fund accounting division for Commonfund. He is an active member of the Financial Planning Association of Massachusetts and the Boston Estate Planning Council. Chris Flynn

Chris FlynnChris Flynn is an associate relationship manager in Atlantic Trust’s Boston office, with more than 10 years of industry experience. In this role, he works closely with senior relationship managers to provide client service support, asset allocation analysis and implementation, portfolio management, performance analysis and client reporting. Prior to joining the firm in 2010, Chris worked as a junior portfolio manager with State Street Global Advisors and as an investment analyst with United Asset Management. Chris is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society and the CFA Institute. He was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma from The University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Arts from George Mason University. Chris is also an avid rower and competes on the club and masters levels internationally.

 

Matthew D. Sheers, CFA

Matthew D. SheersMatthew Sheers is an investment analyst in Atlantic Trust's Boston office, with six years of industry experience. In this role, he works closely with the Multi-Manager Investment Program team to research and perform investment due diligence on external hedge fund and traditional equity managers. Matthew previously served as an associate relationship manager on Atlantic Trust's Boston client service team. Prior to joining the firm in 2006, Matthew earned a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in economics from Wheaton College, Massachusetts. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is an active member of the Boston Security Analyst Society as a participant in the Alternative Investment subcommittee and CFA practice exam writers' committee.

Brian. A. St. GermainAs an associate relationship manager with 16 years of industry experience, Brian St. Germain implements asset allocation strategies for client portfolios and creates customized, comprehensive client reports. Originally employed in Atlantic Trust's operations department, he transitioned to client service in 2004. Previous to joining the firm in 1999, he worked in client services at Putnam Investments and as a senior trade specialist at Brown Brothers Harriman. As graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, he holds a Bachelor of Science in aeronautical science. Brian previously served on the board of directors for the Oxford Little League.

 

Carol A. DeLorme

Carol A. DeLormeCarol DeLorme serves as a senior client service manager in Atlantic Trust’s Boston office, with more than 32 years of industry experience. In this role, she works to meet the needs of the firm’s high net worth clients. She works closely with relationship managers to service and maintain client relationships and oversee administrative office tasks. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2000, Carol was employed at Boston Safe Deposit and Trust as an operations manager. Carol holds a certification in computerized accounting. In her spare time, Carol volunteers with Catholic Charities, an organization that serves local communities in times of need.

Julia M. HardiganJulia Hardigan is an administrative assistant and client service specialist in Atlantic Trust’s Boston office. In this role, she works closely with relationship managers to provide comprehensive client service and ongoing account administration, while also assisting in overseeing day-to-day office administration tasks. Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Julie worked as a legal assistant at the law firm of Martin, Magnuson, McCarthy & Kenney.

Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2008, Emily began her career as an associate with RINET Company, LLC. Prior to joining the firm in 2011, Katie was a trust administrative officer at U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management and a fund accounting specialist at JP Morgan Chase. David L. DonabedianDave Donabedian is chief investment officer of Atlantic Trust, returning to the firm in 2009 after serving as chief investment officer for Ashbridge Investment Management, LLC from 2006 to 2009. As a leading investment expert in our industry, Dave frequently appears on television networks, including CNBC, Bloomberg Television and FOX Business News, and provides insights in publications such as Barron’s and The Wall Street Journal. Previously—from 1996 to 2006—Dave worked with Atlantic Trust for 10 years as managing director and chief economist, serving as a key member of our firm’s Asset Allocation and Multi-Manager and Investment Policy committees and leading our Baltimore and Washington, D.C. offices. Since leaving our firm to become CIO at Ashbridge, Dave expanded his experience, establishing and implementing broad investment policy across the firm, including policy development, asset allocation and manager selection. He also served as chairman of Ashbridge’s Investment Committee. Dave received a Bachelor of Science in economics and a Bachelor of Arts with honors from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He subsequently earned a Master of Business Administration from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business with a concentration in finance and money markets. Jeffrey S. Thomas, CFA

Jeffrey S. Thomas, CFAJeff Thomas is vice chairman of Atlantic Trust. He joined the firm in 1986 and served as chief investment officer for more than 20 years, chaired the firm’s Asset Allocation Committee, was an original applicant and board member of Atlantic Trust Company, N.A. and president of Atlantic Whitehall Funds. Previously, Jeff held senior positions at Scudder, Stevens & Clark and New England Merchants Bank. He began his career as an investment officer at The Northern Trust Company. Jeff is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society, a past member of the Bank Analysts Association of Boston and former president of the Boston Media Analysts Group. He has served as trustee and chairman of the Investment Committee of Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and is currently a director of the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Charitable Foundation. He is also a corporation member for Partners Healthcare System and was a corporation member for The Winsor School. He is treasurer and member of the Board of Governors for the Handel and Haydn Society. He is also a member of the New England Advisory Board for the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). He is a Deacon and past chair of the finance committee of Wellesley Hills Congregational Church. Chief Risk Officer and Director of Fiduciary Services

Lisa M. GarciaLisa Garcia serves as the chief risk officer and director of fiduciary services for Atlantic Trust. She is also a managing director in the Boston office, with more than 28 years of industry experience. Lisa is responsible for the management of the firm's risk management platform and the centralized oversight of fiduciary activities, including the daily administration of its private investment funds. Since joining the firm in 2003, Lisa has served in several positions related to risk management, centralized oversight, tax reporting and charitable gift planning. Prior to coming to Atlantic Trust, Lisa served as manager of client services at Loring, Wolcott, & Coolidge, a principal in the Charitable Gifts Office of State Street Global Advisors, and held positions in various capacities at Mellon Private Wealth Management, including as a vice president and manager of the Fiduciary Tax department and team leader for the Planned Giving and Wholesale Trust Departments. Lisa began her career at Coopers & Lybrand in New York. She earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Manhattan College, a Master of Science in taxation, a Certificate of Tax Specialization and a Master of Business Administration in business ethics, with distinction, from Bentley College. Lisa is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also the chairperson of the Budget Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts, a member of the Audit and Finance Committee of the New England Organ Bank in Waltham and an adjunct faculty member at Bunker Hill Community College.

 

Kathleen A. Greenberg

Kathleen A. GreenbergKathy Greenberg is a senior human resources manager for Invesco’s institutional business. In this role, Kathy works with Invesco’s Boston and New York locations, and all Atlantic Trust locations, to provide proactive and strategic human resources expertise. Kathy began her career with Invesco directly after graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in English from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. In 1989, she assumed her human resources responsibilities with Invesco. Kathy received a certificate in human resources management from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts, and has taken several graduate management courses at Radcliffe College in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

 

Stephen A. Harris
Chief Compliance Officer

Stephen HarrisSteve Harris is the chief compliance officer for Atlantic Trust Company. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the compliance program through policy review, testing and monitoring. Steve has more than 10 years of industry experience and joined Atlantic Trust in 2005 from RSM McGladrey, Inc., where he was a senior associate, specializing in risk management and internal audit, leading reviews of trust administration, trust operations and investment management. Prior to this, Steve was a senior staff auditor for the Northern Trust Company in Chicago, Illinois. Steve earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Indiana University, Kelley School of Business, and a Master of Business Administration from Babson College, with honors. He is also a Certified Fiduciary and Investment Risk Specialist.

Patricia A. Bannan, CFA

Patricia A. Bannan, CFAPatricia Bannan is a managing director and senior investment manager for the Disciplined Equity Strategy. Patricia joined Atlantic Trust in 2007 to manage the Large Growth Strategy and subsequently served as senior investment specialist on the Disciplined Equity Team. Prior to joining the firm, Patricia was with Evergreen Investments, where she managed large core portfolios for the mutual fund and wealth channels and was head of the Large-cap Core Growth Team. She began her career in 1982 at Phoenix Investment Counsel, where she served in analytical, portfolio management and leadership roles. Her experience has been centered on the analysis and portfolio management of large-cap quality companies serving the mutual fund, institutional and wealth management arenas. She has also held senior portfolio management positions at Prudential Investments and CGU Investments. Patricia graduated from the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in business administration with an economics concentration. She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Patricia currently serves on the Dean's Advisory Board for the business school at the University of New Hampshire, where she chairs the Financial and Fundraising Committee. She is also a member of the Women’s Bond Club, an organization whose mission is to assist women in advancing within their chosen field in the finance industry..

 

Christopher J. Lanouette, CFA

Christopher J. Lanouette, CFAChristopher is a fixed income portfolio manager and trader responsible for the analysis, management and trading of taxable and tax-exempt portfolios covering a wide variety of mandates including cash management, intermediate duration, and blended taxable and tax-exempt investments. In addition to his investment management responsibilities he works closely with business development officers to present the firm’s fixed income capabilities and philosophy to prospective clients and intermediaries. He also manages a group of client relationships that are invested solely in fixed income investments. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust, Christopher was a portfolio manager and fixed income trader at Congress Asset Management, a Boston-based asset manager that serves both institutional and high net worth client. There, he sat on the firm’s investment policy committee, responsible for the firm’s fixed income allocation, including tactical and strategic investment decisions. Previously, he worked at Investors Capital Corporation, where he oversaw all trading and operations and was the firm’s financial and operations principal, responsible for calculating and filing monthly and quarterly net capital focus reports. Christopher graduated from Hartwick College with a Bachelor of Arts in finance and accounting. Additionally, Christopher holds the CFA designation and is a member of the Boston Security Analyst Society.

 

Jay Pearlstein, CFA

Jay Pearlstein, CFAJay Pearlstein is a senior portfolio and client relationship manager responsible for providing in-depth analytical equity research on a number of industries, including retail and consumer products. Jay is also co-manager of Atlantic Trust’s Mid-Cap Growth Equity Portfolio. Prior to joining the firm in 1996, Jay was vice president of the equity research department and a member of the investment policy committee at Loomis, Sayles & Co. Previously, he was a senior auditor for Coopers & Lybrand. Jay's more than 32 years of industry experience give him insight into the compilation of financial data and help him in his analysis of mid-size companies. Jay currently serves on the board of directors of Temple Israel of Natick and the board of trustees of the Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Boston. He earned a Bachelor of Arts with high honors in accounting from Michigan State University and received the Board of Trustees' Award for graduating first in his class. Jay also earned a Master of Business Administration with distinction from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Public Accountant designations.

 

Gary E. Pzegeo, CFA

Gary E. Pzegeo, CFAGary Pzegeo joined Atlantic Trust in 2007 as head of fixed income, focusing on portfolio management, trading, policy formulation and client service. With more than 22 years of experience working in the industry, Gary began his career at Evergreen Investments in 1990. In this role, he functioned as managing director and head of the investment grade bond team performing portfolio management, credit and securitized market analysis, as well as taxable and municipal cash management. Subsequently, he was with Gannett, Welsh & Kotler as a vice president, portfolio manager and head of taxable bonds, where he created and implemented a disciplined investment process and credit and account analysis tools and developed customized fixed income products for the high net worth client base. Gary joined Atlantic Trust from recurrent employment at Evergreen Investments, where he functioned as senior portfolio specialist and senior portfolio manager of high yield bonds. In this role, he was responsible for developing macro portfolio themes and enhancing the risk management and security selection process for high-yield and multi-sector fixed income disciplines. He also provided sales and client service support. Gary earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.

 

Frederick L. Weiss, CFA

Frederick L. Weiss, CFAFred Weiss is a senior investment manager and leads the research efforts of the firm’s investment team. Fred is also co-manager of the firm’s Mid-Cap Growth Equity Strategy, where he responsible for researching the technology and health care sectors of the market. He came to Atlantic Trust in 1989 from Adams, Harkness & Hill, where he was a vice president and senior analyst covering the technology and health care sectors. Fred earned a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Harvard College and a Master of Business Administration with honors from the Harvard Business School. Fred holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society. He is a member of the DeCordova Museum’s Business Council and serves on the board of trustees for the Cambridge School of Weston. Fred has been recognized by Institutional Investor magazine in its rating of national buy-side research professionals. His involvement in the investment community complements his extensive experience in securities analysis and research.

 

Jigar Patel, CFA

Jigar Patel, CFAJigar Patel is a senior investment analyst responsible for hedge fund strategy research within the Multi-Manager Investment Program's Alternatives Investment Team. He is responsible for co-managing the firm’s internal hedge fund of funds products and customizing hedge fund portfolios for ultra-high net worth clients. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2007, Jigar worked as a research analyst for Asset Alliance, a $3.2 billion hedge fund of funds in New York. He assisted the head of research in portfolio construction and performed hedge fund manager due diligence for the firm’s multi-strategy, equity long/short and CTA fund of fund portfolios. Prior to his tenure at Asset Alliance, Jigar worked for Bank of America as an analyst in their interest rate derivatives trading group in Chicago. He started his career as an institutional program trader employing systematic quantitative strategies for BNY Mellon’s Quantitative Equity Trading Group (QETG). Jigar earned a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in finance from Rutgers University and a Master of Science with a concentration in financial engineering with honors from NYU-Polytechnic University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

 

Bryan G. Reilly

Bryan G. ReillyBryan Reilly is an investment analyst for the Mid-Cap Growth Equity Team, responsible for researching the industrials and materials sectors. Bryan also remains actively engaged as a member of Atlantic Trust's Multi-Manager Investment Program since 2003, where he is responsible for evaluating and selecting non-proprietary, long-only domestic and international equity managers across market capitalization and style categories. Prior to joining the firm in 2003, Bryan was a principal and research analyst at State Street Global Advisors in the Advisor Strategies Group. In that role, Bryan provided investment support for the firm’s ETF, mutual fund and separate account strategies in addition to conducting investment and capital markets research. Prior to this, Bryan worked in that firm’s Global Asset Allocation Group, which managed approximately $18 billion for institutional pension, foundation and endowment clients. Bryan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Bryant College and a dual Master of Business Administration and Master of Science degrees with concentrations in finance from Northeastern University.

 

Ohm M. Srinivasan, CFA

Ohm M. SrinivasanOhm Srinivasan is a senior investment analyst responsible for hedge fund research within the Multi-Manager Investment Program’s (MMIP) Alternative Investment Team based in Boston. With more than 11 years of industry experience, he is responsible for constructing and managing hedge fund of funds portfolios. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2008, Ohm was vice president of investments for Battersby Capital Management, where he was co-head of hedge fund research. His responsibilities included manager research, portfolio construction, risk management and hedge fund of funds development. He was also the portfolio manager of the systemic hedge book trading equity options and credit swaptions against the portfolio of hedge funds. Previously, Ohm was a senior trader at Cornerstone Trading for six years, where he managed multiple portfolios employing event-driven, volatility arbitrage, options market-making, and quantitative-equity, market-neutral hedge fund strategies. He earned a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in economics from the University of Michigan and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

 

Cathy I. Becker, CFA

Cathy I. Becker, CFACathy Becker joined Atlantic Trust in 2009 as an investment analyst. While she serves as a generalist, her primary emphasis is on healthcare, leveraging more than 30 years of experience and extensive expertise in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical equipment and supply industries. Additionally, she has covered consumer discretionary, technology services and energy stocks. She is a member of the Mid-Cap Growth Equity Team and also supports the Disciplined Equity Team on pharmaceuticals and medical technology. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust, Cathy held senior research and portfolio management positions at Evergreen Investments and Ashford Capital Management and senior analytical positions at Alex Brown and Sons, and Adams, Harkness and Hill. Cathy earned a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in finance magna cum laude from the University of Delaware. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Before joining Atlantic Trust in 2004, Sean worked as a client service manager at State Street Wealth Management Services. He came to the firm from John Hancock Financial Services, where he was a director and senior investment analyst responsible for the selection, monitoring and research of asset managers and strategies utilized by the various investment platforms and funds of funds. Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Hartwick College and holds the Chartered Financial Analysts and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations. In this role, Lester conducts research on external investment managers in a variety of alternative asset classes, including buyout, venture and real estate private equity. He came to the firm from Meketa Investment Group, a Boston-based consulting firm, where he consulted with clients investing in private equity investments. He has previously worked at Bank of America, where he was a client portfolio manager responsible for managing high net worth individual and institutional client portfolios. Additionally, he worked with John Hancock Funds as an institutional client portfolio manager responsible for separate account client relationship management in addition to evaluating, analyzing and trading securities for high-yield and small-cap retail and institutional portfolios. Lester earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Hamilton College and a Master of Business Administration from New York University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society and the Denver Society of Security Analysts.

Sid Nargundkar, CFA

Sid NargundkarSid Nargundkar is an investment analyst in Atlantic Trust's Boston office, with more than eight years of industry experience. In this role, he works closely with the Disciplined Equity Team, to cover large-cap hardware and software technology companies. Prior to joining the firm in 2010, Sid spent five years in sell-side equity research, analyzing high-tech companies and trends for Wells Fargo Securities and Cowen and Company. Sid also held engineering positions at Oracle and HP and was a researcher with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab and the MIT Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems. He earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees with concentrations in electrical engineering/computer science and management science from MIT. Sid holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.

Timothy J. Majer
Operations Director

Timothy J. MajerTim Majer is the operations director for Atlantic Trust, with more than 16 years of industry experience. In his role, Tim is responsible for overseeing all aspects of trust operations, performance measurement and project management across the firm. He joined Atlantic Trust in 2007 as the head of the project management office. Prior to joining the firm, Tim was a vice president at State Street Corporation, where he held a variety of positions in operations, client service and information technology. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Vermont, where he graduated with honors with a double major in economics and political science. Tim is active with the University of Vermont Alumni Association and enjoys coaching his sons’ local sports leagues.

 

Keith M. Willar

Keith M. WillarKeith Willar is the manager of performance analysis for Atlantic Trust, with more than 15 years of industry experience. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the performance measurement function, including maintenance of the firm’s composites, management of the performance team, monitoring of the system used to calculate client account performance and representing Atlantic Trust on the Invesco GIPS Steering Committee. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2004, Keith worked as a business analyst with State Street Corporation. He earned a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in accounting from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and a Master of Business Administration from Suffolk University.

 

Michael McGrath
Vice President

Michael McGrathMike McGrath is the manager of information technology for Atlantic Trust, with more than 18 years of experience in the financial services industry. In this role, Mike leads a team of information technology (IT) professionals responsible for the development of business systems solutions for the firm. He also serves as a liaison between Atlantic Trust and the Invesco IT team. Mike joined the firm in 2005 as the manager of Atlantic Trust’s project office. Previously, he worked as an IT project lead and senior business systems analyst with John Hancock Financial Services. Mike earned a Bachelor of Science from Roger Williams University and earned a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University.

 

Caitlin M. Kneram

Caitlin M. KneramCaitlin Kneram is a performance analyst for Atlantic Trust, with more than eight years of industry experience. In this role, she provides analytical support and ensures accuracy in all aspects of performance measurement and reporting. She is the lead analyst responsible for the creation and maintenance of the firm’s composites and the annual GIPS® verification process. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2006, she worked as a business analyst with Keane Inc., and was a client service specialist at State Street Bank. Caitlin earned a Bachelor of Science in management with a concentration in financial systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Business Administration from Boston College. She is currently a Level II candidate in the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) program.
