Paul Attyah
Vice President
Paul Attyah is a vice president in our Newport Beach office. His responsibilities include relationship management and business development activities in the Los Angeles region. Paul joined the firm in 2007, after nearly seven years with American International Group as a member of AIG’s mergers & acquisitions insurance group, where he was involved in the development and marketing of risk management solutions for clients engaged in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions. Paul’s clients included private equity funds, law firms, and investment banks. He received a Master of Business Administration in finance from the University of Southern California, an Artium Magister in philosophy from Duke University, and an Artium Baccalaureatus in philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, Paul is a member of USC associates in support of the Norris Cancer Center.

Christopher M. Bremer
Senior Vice President
Christopher Bremer is a senior analyst and portfolio manager with Atlantic Trust. He works closely with Andrew Lang in managing family office client relationships for Atlantic Trust’s Newport Beach office. Christopher’s role encompasses defining client investment objectives, customizing clients’ asset allocations, and implementing investment strategies. Prior to Atlantic Trust’s acquisition of Stein Roe Investment Counsel, Inc., Christopher served as the analyst on the firm-wide asset allocation team and investment committee, where he developed a variety of sophisticated asset class valuation and asset allocation models. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2000, Christopher worked as a senior legislative analyst for a congressman in the U.S. House of Representatives. Christopher holds a Bachelor of Arts from Denison University and a Master of Arts from Boston University.

Joseph C. J. Dempsey, CFA
Senior Vice President
Joseph Dempsey is a senior vice president and portfolio manager with Atlantic Trust, and he also serves as an Invesco director. Joe spent the first eight years of his career at Atlanta Sosnoff Capital Corp. as an equity analyst. Joe was primarily responsible for fundamental analysis involving on-site company visits, quantitative analysis, and determination of the suitability of investment recommendations for the firm’s clients. Subsequently, Joe brought his family and investment career to San Francisco in 1995 and spent four years at McCullough, Andrews & Cappiello. He worked directly with Frank Cappiello, a regular panelist on Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser, managing assets for pension funds and individual clients. Currently, at Atlantic Trust, Joe manages individualized portfolios for private clients with a focus toward competitive returns with managed risk. Joe received his CFA® designation in 1994. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the Security Analyst Society of San Francisco.

Andrew J. Lang, CFA
Managing Director
Andrew Lang is the managing director of Atlantic Trust’s Newport Beach office, with over 22 years of investment experience. He serves as a senior portfolio/relationship manager for family office clients, is responsible for managing client investment portfolios, and is a voting member of the Asset Allocation Committee. Andrew is an Invesco senior director and is a member of the Invesco Leadership Group. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust, Andrew served as a vice president and portfolio manager at Alpha Advisors, Inc., where he was responsible for managing taxable and tax-exempt portfolios. Andrew also served as an assistant vice president with the Chicago Corporation, where he participated in the management of balanced assets for high-net-worth individuals, foundations, endowments, and retirement plans. Andrew earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Illinois and a Master of Management in finance and economics from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern University. Andrew is a member of the CFA® Institute, the Los Angeles CFA® Society, and holds the CFA® designation.
