Leah M. Afanador
Associate Vice President
Leah Afanador is a client service manager responsible for the opening and ongoing daily account administration for the Atlanta office, where she works closely with relationship managers providing comprehensive client service and fiduciary oversight of personal accounts and trusts. Leah joined Atlantic Trust in 2004. Prior to that she was a sales assistant for the Ritz-Carlton Hotels of Atlanta. Leah earned her Bachelor of Science in marketing from Clemson University.

Linda S. Beerman
Managing Director
Linda Beerman is the director of fiduciary services and wealth strategies. In addition to client estate planning and review of fiduciary accounts, Linda has oversight responsibility for policy and procedures of the trust management committee. Linda also is a member of Atlantic Trust’s Executive Management Committee, an Invesco senior director, and a member of the Invesco Leadership Group. Before joining Atlantic Trust, Linda was manager of estate and financial planning for Wachovia’s Trust Department, which she joined in 1978. Linda received her Bachelor of Arts from Denison University and a Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Law. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association and has served on the Trust Drafting Committee of the North Carolina General Statutes Commission and as a member of the adjunct faculty of Wake Forest University School of Law. Linda is a member of the Wake Forest University and Forsyth Country Day School Planned Giving Advisory Councils and has served on the Forsyth Country Day School Board of Trustees.

Julia M. Beisel
Vice President
Julia Beisel is a client service manager with over 12 years experience in the management and administration of personal trust and investment management accounts. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2002, Julia was a relationship manager and trust officer at Reliance Trust Company, where she was responsible for managing $70 million in accounts. Previously, she was an administrative manager with Wachovia Bank Personal Trust and Capital Management Group. Julia earned a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in elementary education from Birmingham-Southern College.

Barry N. Berlin, CFA
Managing Director
Barry Berlin is a senior relationship and portfolio manager with more than 25 years of experience assisting high-net-worth families and their related interests. Barry also is an Invesco senior director and a member of the Invesco Leadership Group. Barry spent more than 18 years in a similar capacity with Wachovia Bank, most recently in their Offitbank subsidiary that serves wealthy clients. He established Wachovia’s Capital Management presence in Atlanta in 1988, and has been active in a variety of civic and professional endeavors. Barry earned his CFA® designation in 1982, and served on the governing body’s Council of Examiners from 1984 to 1988. He has also held Leadership roles with the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts for several years and served as its president from 1998 to 1999. Barry earned a Bachelor of Science in commerce from the University of Virginia and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University. He was also a three-time Jeopardy champion in 1998.

Wayne K. DeWitt, Jr.
Managing Director
Wayne is general counsel for Atlantic Trust Company, N.A. and Atlantic Trust Group, Inc., handling legal and regulatory matters for the firm. He also is a member of Atlantic Trust’s Executive Management Committee, an Invesco senior director, and a member of the Invesco Leadership Group. He has served in various positions with Invesco from 1999 to 2006, including general counsel of Invesco Retirement, Inc. and Invesco National Trust Company. Wayne previously served as in-house corporate/securities counsel for Vanstar Corporation from 1996-1999 and Eastman Chemical Company from 1993-1995. He also worked as an associate at the law firm of Alston & Bird from 1988-1993, specializing in banking, securities, and general corporate law. Wayne earned his Bachelor of Arts in government from the University of Virginia, graduating with highest distinction, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.

Carolyn Collins
Senior Vice President
Carolyn is the director of marketing and is an Invesco director. In this role, she leads a team of professionals to provide marketing and communications solutions for the firm. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2005, Carolyn was development associate for the Alexander-Tharpe Fund, Inc., the fundraising arm of the Georgia Tech Athletic Association. In this role, she worked with high net-worth contributors and raised funds for a major athletic facilities campaign. Carolyn studied in Oxford University’s summer program while earning a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Georgia, where she graduated summa cum laude with honors in English, and she earned her Master of Business Administration at the Yale School of Management. She represents Yale SOM on the board of the Atlanta Business School Alliance.

Alison E. Dohrman (Ali)
Senior Vice President
Alison “Ali” Dohrman is director of human resources for Atlantic Trust and is responsible for the oversight of human resources, payroll, and office administration duties for the firm. In this role, Ali is also the senior liaison with Invesco for all Atlantic Trust human resources matters. She leads the Atlantic Trust HR team to further coordinate efforts with other Invesco business units in transitioning to a more centralized Human Resources function. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2002, Ali served as a senior financial and management analyst within the client strategy group for Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management Division. She began her career in investment management in 1998 working with Homrich & Berg, an Atlanta-based financial planning firm. Additionally, Ali is very active in the Atlanta community supporting the Atlanta Women’s Foundation, the Shepherd Catastrophic Care Center, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the local Atlanta Arts organizations, among others. She earned her Bachelor of Science with honors , Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Florida, and her Master of Business Administration at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. She is also a candidate for the CFA® Level I designation.

Charles R. Hoke, CFA
Senior Vice President
Charles Hoke is a portfolio and relationship manager with more than 12 years experience helping high-net-worth families and their related interests with their wealth management objectives. He also serves as an Invesco director. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust, Charles served as a vice president with Credit Suisse First Boston’s Private Wealth Management Division. From 1998 to 2002, Charles was an investment advisor with Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management in Atlanta. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Charles worked as an associate with Homrich & Berg, an Atlanta based fee-only financial planning and investment advisory firm. He began his career in wealth management in 1993 with Trust Department of SunTrust Bank. Charles is a member of the CFA® Institute, the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts, and serves as a member and Secretary of the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church Finance Committee. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in finance magna cum laude from the University of Georgia, and his Master of Business Administration from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

John S. Markwalter, Jr. (Jack)

Jack Markwalter is president and chief executive officer of Atlantic Trust, the wealth management division of Atlanta-based Invesco, as well as chairman and chief executive officer of Invesco National Trust Company. He is a senior managing director of Invesco and serves as a member of Invesco’s Executive Management Committee. In March of 2008, Jack took on an additional role leading Invesco Worldwide Institutional’s U.S. Sales, Marketing and Client Service team. In this role, Jack is responsible for growing the respected institutional business, and he manages the day-to-day operations of Invesco’s private equity fund of funds business, where he works closely with Wilbur Ross, founder of WL Ross & Co. and chairman of Invesco Private Capital. He joined Atlantic Trust in 2002 as head of business development and has more than 20 years of experience in the private client and investment industry. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust, Jack served as managing director and national director of the client strategy group for Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management. Jack earned a Bachelor of Science with highest honors from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. Jack serves in various leadership roles for many community organizations. Among other positions, he is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Georgia Tech Foundation, the Board of Trustees for Pace Academy, the Board of Directors for St. Joseph’s Hospital Mercy Foundation, and he serves as chairman for his Harvard Business School Reunion Fund Campaign.

James C. McElroy, Jr. (Cam)
Vice President
Cam McElroy is an associate relationship manager providing the Atlanta office with investment research, portfolio management, business development and client service support. Cam is also involved with performance analysis and client reporting. In 2000, he began his career as a junior analyst with Farr, Miller & Washington in Washington, D.C. Cam holds a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University and is a Level III candidate in the CFA® program. He is a member of the CFA® Institute, the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts, and serves as a board member for the Georgia Network to End Sexual Assault (GNESA).

W. Scott Thompson, III
Senior Vice President
Scott Thompson is an investment professional and client relationship manager. In this role, he works with clients and their advisors to develop financial, tax, and estate planning strategies, as well as investment and asset allocation strategies. Scott has general oversight responsibility for the trust and estate administration activities in the region. He currently sits on the firm’s trust discretionary committee and is an Invesco director. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 2001, Scott was a senior administrative manager with Offitbank, the high-net-worth subsidiary of Wachovia Bank. Prior to joining Wachovia, Scott was a portfolio manager and trust officer with Virginia Commonwealth Trust Company. Scott earned his Bachelor of Arts in finance at James Madison University and is a graduate of the Southeastern Trust School of Campbell University and the ABA National Graduate Trust School. Additionally, he is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor.
